Le recueil: Regenerative medicine
Regenerative therapies are used in the treatment of joint diseases and soft tissue injuries in the field of equine surgery. These therapies can accelerate the processes of healing of these tissues by modulating inflammatory and immune response, as also enhancing cell survival and inhibiting cell death. Thereby these therapies can improve the prognosis of serious injuries and shorten the recovery time of these lesions.
Specifically in equine regenerative medicine, equine veterinarians have at their disposal different types of therapies, such as :
- Application of autologous stem cells obtained from hematopoietic cells from peripheral blood or bone marrow, or cells from adipose tissue, among others.
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) obtained from autologous peripheral blood,
- Interleukin-1 Receptor Antagonist Protein (IRAP) based on the production of Autologous Condition Serum (ACS).
- Autologous Protein Solution (APS)
